The necklace, reconstructed below, was found with other jewelery in Oplontis in "Villa B" (perhaps belonging to Lucius Crassus Tertius) in association with the remains of a woman killed by a pyroclastic flow from the 79 AD eruption of Mt. Vesuvius.
